In 1996, two of the world’s best climbers — Lynn Hill and Dave “Cubby” Cuthbertson — travelled to a tiny island off Scotland’s west coast in search of one of the great unclimbed sea cliffs of the British Isles.
They discovered The Great Arch: a vast wall sculpted by time and tide, beautiful and terrifying in equal measure. Their attempt became legend — but the route remained unfinished, the enormous roof still unclimbed.
Three decades later, Robbie Phillips set sail for Pabbay with Cubby and climbing partner Jamie Lowther to revisit the line and uncover the story left behind.
What he found was more than just a climb — it was a conversation across generations, a connection between climber and rock, and a new chapter in the legend of Scotland’s Great Arch.
Join us Thursday 4th December for an exclusive screening of Robbie Phillips new film: The Great Arch.
